Keetup Development

On 3 September, the first Barcamp Rosario was held at the Universidad Abierta Interamericana (UAI). There are already two such events taking place in the province of Santa Fe, along with the Barcam Litoral held in May this year.

In Keetup we really like to attend such events, so we were present.

Attended the event with high hopes of witnessing several talks, but the slower people call, there was a very significant amount. Of those who attended had a very good quality.

At first we were not going to make a presentation as we went with the intention of being just spectators. But after seeing that there were few conversations at the event, decided with Gustavo (@ gushbellino) scored to give one talk about Elgg, titled "Elgg, The Social Network".

The talk was quite descontracturar, with several questions and answers as we gave the presentation, and some examples of the benefits of Elgg. As the data model and the abstraction of the database for the programmer.

I never had attended a Barcamp, much less a BarcampLitoral. In fact, until two years ago did not know it existed.

If I go back further in time, I have to be honest and say that six years ago did not know what php, html, googlegroups, delicious and a long list of etceteras. Keetup not even exist. But those evil beings that live behind me evangelized screens, installed in my notebook kde, openoffice and without knowing I was getting into the poison of binary code.

Today, not only know what is the BarcampLitoral, but it also expected it, answered my questions (it is difficult for someone to answer your questions more silly when you're not the bat), I attended the talks and I hope the next year with more commitment and willing to receive and give more in a growing community that can fill tents and summon more than 1800 people.

Today, not only know that I can improvise a speech, but it also exists to give her space and, no papers, no computers, no nothing. It's just to say "I want to do and say." Barcamp is responsible for giving you the space and tools. I have only words of gratitude to all organizers, sponsors and Keetup, where I was brought up in this world so descontracurado who love nerds and, above all, the geeks.

Just as last year, this year we do not want to miss the event
which brings together major geeks Argentina: Buenos Aires Barcamp.

How could it be otherwise, we wanted to share some of the knowledge acquired in the daily lives of our offices, and present a talk called:
PHP program and now what? Testing, Deployment and Continuous Integration.
Basically, the presentation tries to tell that this is the Continuous Integration in
working environments with the programming language PHP.

And after several days of that event (and a little more calm) can attest that another event has occurred Elgg successfully. We can not but thank the companies (sponsors) that contributed to it, and OnlineCouples Arck.

The event has been as planned, place, time, number of people, etc. Everything has been great. According to comments, the talks had been a very interesting and thank you all for being, listened and participated in them.
On the other hand this is not just a elgg event also had raffles chopped (which at that time of the evening looked very appetizing Buenos Aires) and the coveted gimmick: the iPod Shuffle.

And between elgg talks, snacks, raffles and much networking is gone ElggCampBA 2010 meeting expectations and nurturing the community of this great tool that makes us so happy: Elgg!

On the other hand, like last year (ElggCampBA 2010), the day after the spring event was held on Elgg code where we talked very relaxed and programming a module for the tool.
Now organize the ElggCampBA 2011, but no time to prepare for the board comes with everything.
